Striking Showcase ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website strikingshowcase.com and related services (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information from athletes, parents/guardians, college coaches, and other users of the Platform.
Because our Platform serves student-athletes ages 14–20, we take extra care with the data of minors. If you are under 18, please review this policy with your parent or guardian before using the Platform.

USBC: membership verification status (when available)
Supabase: authentication tokens and session data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage user accounts (athlete, coach, parent/guardian, admin)
Display athlete recruiting profiles to college coaches
Enable coaches to discover, filter, and evaluate prospective athletes
Facilitate messaging between coaches, athletes, and parents/guardians
Process subscription payments and manage billing
Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, message notifications, tournament reminders)
Provide profile analytics to athletes (e.g., profile views, coach interest)
Generate AI-assisted profile bios at the athlete's request (using Anthropic's Claude API — see Section 2.1)
Monitor Platform health, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
Improve the Platform through aggregate analytics and usage patterns
Comply with legal obligations
2.1 AI-Generated Content
The Platform offers an optional AI bio generation feature powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When an athlete requests an AI-generated bio, their profile data (name, stats, school, graduation year, and preferences) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a draft bio. This data is processed under Anthropic's data usage policy and is not used to train AI models. Athletes may edit or discard any AI-generated content before publishing.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
3.1 Athlete Profile Visibility
Athlete profiles are designed to be discovered by college coaches. Depending on the athlete's visibility settings, profile information (name, stats, media, school, graduation year, and bio) may be publicly viewable or visible only to verified coaches. Athletes control their profile visibility through their Settings page.
3.2 Coach Access
Verified college coaches can view athlete profiles, add athletes to their watchlist, and initiate messaging. Coach activity (profile views) may be displayed to athletes in their dashboard analytics.
3.3 Family Access
Athletes may invite up to 3 family members (parents/guardians) to view their profile and recruiting activity. Family members have read-only access with the ability to reply in existing coach message threads. Athletes can revoke family access at any time.
3.4 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform:
Supabase: database hosting, authentication, file storage, and real-time functionality
Vercel: website hosting and content delivery
Stripe: payment processing and subscription management
Resend: transactional and notification emails
Cloudinary: image and media hosting and optimization
Anthropic: AI bio generation (profile data sent only when athlete requests this feature)
3.5 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
3.6 Business Transfers
If Striking Showcase is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not share personal information with advertisers.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
Active accounts: data retained for the life of the account
Deleted accounts: profile data is removed within 30 days of account deletion; anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely
Messages: retained for the life of both participant accounts; deleted when either account is permanently deleted
Payment records: retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
Admin audit logs: retained indefinitely and cannot be modified or deleted
Revoked family access: the family member row is retained (with revoked_at timestamp) but all API access returns 403
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all Platform communications
Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring athletes can only access their own data and coaches can only access their own watchlists and threads
Separate authentication and authorization for the admin portal, including mandatory TOTP two-factor authentication
JWT-based session management with expiration policies
IP allowlisting for admin access
Append-only, immutable audit logs for all administrative actions
No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security vulnerability, please contact us immediately at info@strikingshowcase.com.
6. Cookies and Tracking
The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies for:
Authentication: maintaining your logged-in session (essential — cannot be disabled)
Preferences: remembering your display settings (portfolio layout, color scheme)
Analytics: understanding how users interact with the Platform to improve functionality
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using the Platform.
7. Minors' Privacy
